Without an experienced coach, you’ll struggle to make progress on your own. I have my own coach, and I know firsthand the benefits of having someone guide you, someone who can see more than you can. Right now, it’s Linda Paganelli, but in the past, it was Goran Colak or Gary McGrath. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and I’m still improving.
Coaching is designed to meet the needs and goals of the individual.
The minimum duration is one month, but I recommend at least 2 to 3.
We’ll focus on:
- Breath hold: Static and dynamic exercises to extend your breath-hold time, both at rest and in motion.
- Breathing techniques: Freediving isn’t just about holding your breath, it’s about how to breathe properly and relax.
- Mobility and flexibility: The key to relaxation and perfect technique.
- Strength and cardio training: Without good fitness, you won’t gain self-confidence. Freediving is a sport, and training is essential.
- Mental training: Freediving is all about the mind, they say. How much time do you actually dedicate to mental preparation?
- Technique (with video coaching option): Record a video of the discipline you want to improve, and we’ll incorporate the right exercises into your training.
Coaching includes:
- A full month plan
- Daily tips and consultations
- Dry training, pool training with or without safety, depth training
- Stretching, mobility, packing, strengthening, breathing—videos and photos
- Shared online logbook
Before we start, think about:
- Consider the time you have available (how many days a week, how many hours a day)
- What equipment do you have? (Gym, tools at home, etc.)
- What activities do you do? (Running, swimming, cycling, etc.)
- What do you have available at the pool? (Access, swimming only, equipment you can use)
- What do you have available for depth training? (Access, depth, equipment)
